Sometimes I follow you around...a lot!

Hey folks! Sakin here again...
It's been a few days since I last ruffed, I mean, wrote a blog...and it's been a busy few days. Well, not exactly for me, but for my Auntie and Uncle.
You see, I've sort of seen my job as being there for them when they get home. I know they've got all sorts of different things to do while they're out. But I sense my role is to just 'be near' when they get home, ya know? When they need a furry thing to rub or a head to pet, I'm there! But I have a confession...
Since my time in the dog shelter I came from (almost 6 years ago now) where I had the crazy experience of sharing a 5x5 cage with 3 other dogs (who were pretty yappy, if you don't mind me saying so), I'm pretty anxious when I'm alone. And my Auntie and Uncle know it when they get home...the moment they enter, after a good walk, I basically take it upon myself to follow them EVERYWHERE they go! And I mean everywhere.
Why not?! I want them to know that I'm here, that they can depend on me. It's not a bother AT ALL that I'm, literally, on their heels every time they turn around, get up off the couch, making dinner in the kitchen, etc. It's my role. I just want to be close...
But ya know, there's those times...where I know I'm being a bit annoying. I've caused a few near-trips to the floor so when that happens, I'm banished to the living room with the stern command of the, 'Go lie down!' I know all too well. I know what that means...it means I'm being annoying. And I'm in the way.
Have you ever felt this way? Like you're just too much in people's (or dog's) hair? I really don't seem to really know where the boundaries are, and dogly (aka frankly), it's a bit confusing. Sometimes, when the big glowing thing goes down in the sky and the small glow-like things are turned on inside our roofed cage, my owners sit on these comfy things and invite me to be at their feet or even better, right next to them on the comfy thing (and I take it upon myself to claim as much room as possible!). There's the ticket, dog! I get to be right next to them and have all the rubs I want! It's Dog Heaven! I come up right next to them and...
...I know...I'm pretty much a dog who needs constant affection, all the time and need to, at all times, be near people - otherwise known as non-hairy dogs in this blog - it's my lot in this dog-life. It's my life. But I'm glad I've got some owners that have taken me out of that wretched cage over 5 years ago...but it's left some scars.
But maybe, when I've got all my dogs in a row, I'll tell you all about it...but until then, just trust me that I'm pretty thankful for where I am now in comparison to where I was.
Well...that's it for today. Sometimes I follow you around...a LOT! I know I can be a bit annoying. But I also know that if I press on and am there when my owners need me, it could be the difference between a good ending to a long day or a sour one!
So, until next time...
