Hi. I'm a dog. But you probably have gathered that from the title of this blog - Through the Eyes of a Dog...
My name's Sakin (pronounced 'saw-keen'). It means calm in Turkish. My Uncle Peter would probably say that I'm the calmest dog he's ever met. Perhaps that's why he rescued me from the Dog Shelter in Turkey...but I'll share that story another time...Here's the thing: I don't know of many dogs who have taken it upon themselves to use their 'masters' to help them communicate to the world...actually I don't know any at all! (if there's dogs out there that are doing this, let's link up! I'd love to smell your butt! What?! It's what we do! You're human...you wouldn't understand). Ahem. Anyway...where was I? Yes, communicating to the world.
I've begun a journeying blog (with the help of my Uncle Pete). My hope is that we might learn a thing or two about each other; maybe even share mutual stories. I do believe we have a lot to share - us dogs - and given the opportunity, we could grow together.
I hope it goes without saying that us dogs would be nowhere without our loved-ones taking care of us! You humans feed us, take us for walks, rub our bellies and SO many more things...and we LOVE you for it! And because of it, you've got us for life! We really do appreciate you...but think you could learn a thing or two about life if you only started to think and act a bit more like us. I sincerely want to make it my aim to start communicating it in a way that you can understand...and with the help of my Uncle Pete, we can do it together!
So I guess you could say that's my purpose statement for this blog: writing more like a 'Ruff-Version' of what the world looks like through the eyes of a dog and hoping to inspire others in the process.
With the help of my Uncle Pete, this blog will share some real-life stories of the things that have gone on in my life to date. Rather than boring you with all the details of how I came to be in the home of my master now, that'll unfold as we get to know each other - but I really do think it'd be fun for us to recall the many experiences I've had. I've had a few. So...
What follows is a blog about a dog's life - my life. It's pretty fascinating, if I do say so myself. And I think I've got a lot to offer...with maybe a few confessions along the way. You'll discover as we journey together that I really do think we could learn a lot from each other; I really don't think we're all that different (other than the smelling butt thing).
So here we go. And oh, by the way - check back with this blog often, because I've got a LOT of stories! Or better yet, subscribe with the button below :) Ruff!
